Canton has always been a college town and both SUNY Canton and St. Lawrence University, as well as Canton Central School district, have often been well represented in the Canton Rotary Club membership and leadership.  So the club has always placed high value on education and student success. Each year, the club presents scholarships to graduating seniors of Canton Central School for academic achievement and community service and recognizes vocational students for achievement in special projects during the academic year.

Katie Dolan [c.]  and ner mother, Mary Dolan, attended a Canton Rotary Club in July 2007 when Katie was presented the club's Service Above Self Scholarship and a cash award by Club President Varick Chittenden.
